Windsurfing Vacation Cabarete June 2003

For the past 4 years Kim and I have been coming back to Cabarete in the Dominican Republic. It really is our special place - we even enjoyed our wonderful honeymoon in Cabarete, while I was competing in the Cabarete Race Week.

Over the years I have had some great victories in this Caribbean Windsurfing Championship but this year we came over for nothing but fun sailing and rest and Relaxation - in other words a well earned VACATION. Our good friends Rod Pitt and Colleen Flannigan joined us for a week, and we met up with Miami windsurfers Pedro and Denise. We also met up with a great couple from Savannah, Richard and Donna.

What a blast. Stunning palm lined beach. Great wind. Warm water. Sweet swell on the reef. Dining out under the stars on the beach. Old friendships renewed. New friendships cemented. This is the what a perfect windsurfing vacation is supposed to be.

If you are a windsurfer or kitesurfer and you haven't spent any time in Cabarete - you really are missing out - mark my words!
